About

A head shot of Nikki. She is looking directly into the camera, smiling slightly with curly brown hair and a purple t shirt.

Throughout the past eleven years, I have honed my expertise in mental health and public speaking. As the Founding Director of the acclaimed peer support group Evolve for nearly a decade, I have had the privilege of consulting with prominent organizations on a range of local, national, and international policies. I am grateful for the opportunity to raise my voice in advocacy for change.

With a unique perspective gained through personal, professional, and caregiving experiences, I approach my work with confidence and creativity. Drawing inspiration from poetry, music, and mindfulness, I offer audiences practical techniques that I have personally tried and refined.

My passion lies in sharing my own journey, aiming to reduce the stigma surrounding human struggles and foster greater self-esteem in others. If my story can positively impact just one person, then all my efforts are worthwhile.

As a Freelance Lived Experience Consultant and Public Speaker, an Honorary Lecturer at King’s College London, and a member of various prestigious groups such as the Global Leadership Exchange emerging leaders group, I am dedicated to making a difference in the field of mental health.

I am currently collaborating with the WHO regional office for Europe on the Pan-European Mental Health Coalition. Additionally, I am a member of the Expert Reference Group on The real PD: Prejudice and Discrimination of Personality Disorder with the Royal College of Psychiatrists.

My self-published books, ‘One Second at a Time,’ & ‘Evolving Peer Support’, reflect my journey and insights, and I have also launched the ‘It Could Happen to Anyone’ podcast.
